How we collect, use, and protect personal information.

Last updated May 18, 2026 · ChurchDek operated by Tecunit

Overview

These documents describe how ChurchDek (operated by Tecunit) handles your data and your use of the platform. They apply to church workspaces, administrators, and end users who access ChurchDek on behalf of a congregation.

ChurchDek is multi-tenant church management software. Each church workspace is logically separated; we do not use your congregation’s member or financial records to market to other churches.

Information we collect

Depending on how your church uses ChurchDek, we may process:

  • Account data: name, email, phone, role, login history, and workspace settings.
  • Member & pastoral data entered by your church: profiles, families, attendance, interactions, documents, and welfare cases.
  • Financial & giving data: transactions, pledges, receipts, online giving, and configuration you provide.
  • Communications metadata: SMS/email send logs, templates, and delivery status (message content is stored as configured by your admins).
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, audit logs, and security events.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, secure, and improve ChurchDek and related support.
  • Authenticate users, enforce roles and permissions, and maintain audit trails.
  • Process subscriptions, SMS credits, and payment-related notifications.
  • Send service, security, and billing communications you expect as a customer.
  • Comply with law and respond to valid legal requests.

Legal bases & consent

Where applicable (including GDPR-style regimes), we rely on contract performance, legitimate interests in operating a secure SaaS platform, legal obligation, and consent where you or your church explicitly opts in (e.g. marketing newsletter on our website).

Your church is the data controller for congregation member data; Tecunit acts as a processor when handling that data on your instructions through ChurchDek.

Sharing & subprocessors

We do not sell personal information. We share data only with subprocessors needed to run the service (hosting, email, SMS gateways, payment processors) under contractual confidentiality and security requirements, or when required by law.

A current list of categories of subprocessors is available on request via contact@tecunitgh.com.

Retention

We retain data while your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward for backups, billing, and legal compliance. Your church may export records before closure. Deletion requests are handled per our Data Protection page and applicable law.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port personal data, and to object to certain processing. Church members should contact their church first; platform requests can be sent to contact@tecunitgh.com with subject “Privacy”.

International transfers

Data may be processed in regions where our infrastructure and partners operate. We apply appropriate safeguards (contractual clauses and security controls) when data crosses borders.

Children

ChurchDek is intended for use by churches and authorized adults. Minors’ data should only be entered where the church has a lawful basis and parental consent as required by local law.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
