Getting started

How churches sign up, configure a workspace, and go live in week one.

Church workspace

Each church gets an isolated tenant with its own subdomain, data, roles, and package features.

Features

  • Subdomain workspace (e.g. yourchurch.churchdek.com or yourchurch.localhost in dev)
  • Six-step onboarding wizard: profile, branches, leadership, finance, preferences, review
  • Package tiers control which modules are enabled (attendance, welfare, communications, etc.)
  • Branch-scoped access for multi-campus ministries

How to use

  1. Register at Start free or choose a plan on Pricing.
  2. Complete email verification if prompted, then finish the setup wizard.
  3. Invite team members from Settings → Users and assign roles.
  4. Use the dashboard Overview for a snapshot of people, finance, and upcoming events.

Roles & permissions

Fine-grained access so treasurers, pastors, and volunteers only see what they need.

How to use

  1. Open Administration → Roles & Permissions to review default roles.
  2. Assign roles when inviting users under Administration → Users & Access.
  3. Treasurers get finance permissions; pastoral staff get minister dashboard and interaction log access without full admin rights.

People & pastoral care

Member records, visitors, discipleship, and confidential pastoral notes.

Members & families

Central directory with profiles, contact info, custom fields, and household links.

How to use

  1. Go to People → Members to add or import members.
  2. Open a member profile to edit contact details, assign groups, or log pastoral care.
  3. Export lists for follow-up from Reports when needed.

Pastoral interaction log

Church-wide log of enquiries, prayer, counseling, visitations, and follow-ups with privacy controls.

How to use

  1. Open Pastoral → Interaction log (or People → Interaction log in the sidebar).
  2. Click Log interaction, pick a member, and record details plus optional follow-up date.
  3. Use quick filters for prayer cases or overdue follow-ups; minister dashboard links here directly.

Minister dashboard

Pastoral KPIs, prayer cases, absent members, and quick links for daily ministry work.

How to use

  1. Open Pastoral → Minister Dashboard after sign-in on your church workspace.
  2. Click any stat or list row to jump to members, interactions, or attendance.
  3. Use Refresh to pull the latest counts from the API.

Visitors & discipleship

Track first-time guests and intentional discipleship pathways.

How to use

  1. Log visitors under People → Visitors after each service.

Worship services, life events, and church calendar in one place.

How to use

  1. Plan weekly services under Ministry → Church Planner.
  2. Add life events under the planner sub-menu; publish events for the congregation when ready.

Task-first hub: record giving, record expenses, view transactions, manage accounts.

How to use

  1. Start at Finance → Overview every week.
  2. Use sub-navigation tabs: Overview | Giving | Transactions | Accounts | Reports.
  3. Advanced tools (scanner giving, pouches, fundraising) are listed under All finance tools.

Record giving

Tithes, offerings, and designated gifts with fund and payment method tracking.

How to use

  1. After service, open Finance → Giving or use Scanner Giving for barcode workflows.
  2. Assign each entry to a fund (Tithes, Building, Missions, etc.) and bank/cash account.

Transactions

Full ledger of income, expenses, and transfers with approval workflow.

How to use

  1. Review pending items from the overview banner or Transactions with status filter.

Where money is held (bank, cash, mobile money) and what it is earmarked for.

Medical, funeral, emergency, school fees, and benevolence with approval workflow.

  1. Submit requests from Care → Welfare → New request or category quick links.
  2. Reviewers filter Needs review; treasurers disburse from approved cases.
  3. Each disbursement can post to the welfare fund expense in finance automatically.
